Programs to Elevate Black Farmers
Black farmers have largely been excluded from conversations around the origin of our food. It’s time to change that. Recognizing the issue in this plight while highlighting the contributions and challenges faced by Black farmers in the agricultural industry is only the beginning of creating a more equitable and diverse food system. To help create change, meaningful programs and initiatives must be designed and implemented with Black farmers at the forefront.
Freedmen Heirs Foundation strives to build programs and offer services that aim to reverse the centuries-old trend of declining Black farming operations and economic hardships.
Finding solutions. Reversing the trends. Elevating Black farmers. It’s what we do.
