Dedicated to the Promise of Successful Black Farms
The Black farming community is often overlooked and underrepresented in the U.S. agriculture industry. The exclusion of Black farmers’ participation in U.S. agriculture is a missed opportunity to increase social and economic value and transform the agricultural and food supply chain. To address these challenges, Freedmen Heirs Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has taken up the cause of supporting Black farmers with a laser focus on expediting change in U.S. agriculture by bridging the gap between two worlds: Black farmers and the marketplace.
Our organization is dedicated to a mission and vision of eliminating inequities in agriculture by providing Black farmers access to technical assistance, capital, and new market opportunities.
Our mission is accomplished through the development of innovative program initiatives that strive to increase diversity and equity in U.S. agriculture and to effectively combat barriers via a relevant and holistic approach mutually beneficial for Black farmers, agribusiness, government, and industry stakeholders. We are dedicated to creating and nurturing sustainable relationships with agribusinesses and agricultural organizations. We aim to establish these partnerships with Black farmers at the forefront who are economically disadvantaged and are adversely affected at higher rates than their counterparts.

We are driven by a purpose to ensure that every Black farmer has access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need to thrive. Our work is grounded in the belief that by honoring the past, we can shape an equitable future for generations to come. We are committed to fostering a more just and inclusive agricultural sector where the legacy of Black farmers is celebrated and where opportunity knows no bounds.
